Bridging Blocks | Community Conversations: What Comes Next After Incarceration?

Philadelphia’s prison population has decreased significantly in recent years, falling by 30.1% from July 2024 to March 2026 and by more than 50% since 2015, according to a 2026 Philadelphia Prison Population report from the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania Department of Research and Development.

 As people return home from incarceration, they often face challenges that can make rebuilding their lives difficult. Finding stable housing and employment, navigating discrimination, reconnecting with family, and accessing essential services.

What resources are currently missing that could facilitate the reentry process? What role does voting and civic participation play in helping people returning from incarceration reconnect with their communities?

Join us for the first part of a community conversation series exploring those questions along with the challenges and opportunities surrounding reentry and how communities can support successful transitions toward stability, connection, and meaningful civic participation.

Attendees will engage directly with one another in a moderated setting. Rather than a lecture or presentation, the program is designed as a dialogue, an exchange of perspectives, and a shared learning opportunity among participants.

This event will be live-streamed for attendees who wish to join virtually. A viewing link will be sent to all registered participants on the day of the event.
