Bridging Blocks | Environmental Cleanup, Brownfields, and Green Spaces in the Community

Green spaces are essential to our communities, offering a vital connection to nature and the environment around us. However, new developments and growing populations threaten these open spaces. Access to green space can look very different than your own lived experience, shaping health, safety, and overall quality of life. Kennett Square is no stranger to the discussions surrounding the proposed plans to redevelop the former National Vulcanized Fiber (NVF) site.

Together, we’ll explore: What are the key benefits and impacts of green spaces in our
community, our cities, and beyond? How can we thoughtfully balance growth and development while protecting the spaces that support community well-being? And who truly has access to green space—and why?
