Join WHYY and People’s Light for a special evening featuring a reception and screening of the powerful and inspiring film Nine Parts in the Farmhouse at People’s Light.

Following the screening, stay for an intimate and engaging post-film conversation led by playwright and filmmaker Heather Raffo. Over tea and dessert, guests will explore the film’s moving themes of grief, cultural heritage, and collective resilience.

Nine Parts tells the story of an Iraqi-American woman grieving her father’s death during the pandemic as she journeys to the oldest Iraqi church in North America. Through ancestral stories of Iraqi women, personal loss is transformed into shared strength and hope.
