Bridging Blocks | Beyond Borders: Challenges and Opportunities of Human Migration

Twenty eight percent of Americans consider immigration the top problem facing the United States, according to a 2024 Gallup poll. In the United Kingdom, immigration continues to be the biggest issue, with 47% of Britons mentioning it, and one in four calling it the single most important issue, according to the 2025 Ipsos Issues Index.

The United States is home to more foreign-born residents than any other country. In Philadelphia, 15.7% residents are foreign born, that's the highest share in eight decades, according to data from The Pew Charitable Trusts. Drivers of migration range from economic opportunities, escaping political violence and climate disasters.

Is there a universal solution? What are the opportunities and challenges that come with immigration?
