Join WHYY for A Special Event Honoring the Legacy of

Justice Thurgood Marshall

WHYY is proud to host an inspiring evening celebrating the life and legacy of one of America’s greatest legal minds - Justice Thurgood Marshall, a graduate of Lincoln and Howard Universities.  The event will feature a screening selection from Becoming Thurgood: America’s Social Architect followed by a panel discussion on his legacy and its impact on the law, the courts and education.

Executive produced by Emmy Award-winner and Oscar nominee Stanley Nelson and Travis Mitchell, Senior Vice President of MPT, the film offers exclusive insights into the landmark Supreme Court victories—including Brown v. Board of Education—and his historic appointment as the first African American U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Doors open at 5:30 pm for a networking reception with the program beginning at 6:45p.   Space is limited and reservations are required—register today to secure your spot at this powerful event. This event will be moderated by WHYY Studio 2 host Cherri Gregg (civil rights attorney and journalist)
