Bridging Blocks | Navigating Borders: Exploring the Issues of Immigration

Overseas-born residents now constitute 15.7% of Philadelphians, that's the highest share in eight decades, according to data from The Pew Charitable Trusts. Most recent immigrants find themselves in communities with others in the diaspora. They gravitate towards neighborhoods that have familiar traditions, shared languages, affordability, and support.

What’s it like for foreign-born residents in Philadelphia? What attracts them to the city? What are some of the challenges they face here? What services or support could help overcome these barriers?
