Bridging Blocks | Aging in the City

20% of Philadelphia’s population are over the age of 60 with a record number of them living below the poverty line. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, lower-income older adults spend 131% of their income on housing compared to 74% in 2013.

The senior population in Philly is expected to grow by 66% by 2030.

Is Philadelphia doing all it can to ensure its older residents can retire in comfort and security? What is it like for older residents in the city?
