Donald Trump’s decisive 2024 presidential election victory has shaken the political status quo. Trump flipped Bucks County red for the first time since 1988, and eroded President Joe Biden's 2020 margins in counties across Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, as he again won the state.
Republicans say President-elect Trump's victory shows they are now a "multi-racial, multi-ethnic, populist, working-class party."
Democrats are now left to ponder how they can build a winning coalition moving forward. Do they radically change their message and priorities? Or do they count on 2024 being an aberration created by an unpopular incumbent and the lingering effects of inflation?
And major questions now arise about a second Trump presidency: Can he deliver for the voters counting on him to improve their financial outlook? To what degree will he follow through on campaign promises to create new tariffs, enact mass deportations, curtail environmental regulations, reimagine foreign policy and remake or dismantle agencies of the federal government?
And how will Democrats, who could be in the minority in both houses of Congress, seek to halt Trump’s agenda?
A week after Election Day, it’s a chance to join together to talk about how the country can move forward after a hotly contested election.
Studio 2 hosts Cherri Gregg and Avi Wolfman-Arent will hash it all out at the Indian Valley Public Library In Telford, Bucks County on Tuesday, November 12th from 6-7:30p , joined by an expert panel which will include former Pennsylvania Gov. Mark Schweiker, a Bucks County native, and Democratic Montgomery County Comissioner Neil Makhija.
